Ancient history will come alive as we step into the Colosseum where gladiators fought to the death, explore the Forum where Julius Caesar walked, and see some of the earliest Christian churches in the Western world. Exploring the catacombs just outside the ancient walls of Rome will provide us with insights about early Christian burial practices. Renaissance and Baroque art and architecture will come alive as we visit museums and churches scattered throughout Rome, Florence, and Venice including St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, the Duomo in Florence, and St. Mark’s and the Doge’s Palace in Venice.
Geneva College students should sign up for HUM 301 in the Spring (11:15 MWF) and fulfill the requirements for HUM 203 & 303 by completing HUM 301 on campus during the spring semester and then taking the trip to Italy in May.
Field trips (including transportation and admission) are included as part of the student′s activity fee. They include, but are not limited to:
