"In past years students have traveled to bigger cities like New York City and Washington D.C. to get a glimpse into what it looks like to be a faithful citizen in these big urban communities. Students have spent a week serving at Lamppost Farm and in Three Rivers, Michigan exploring topics like hospitality, food justice, and helping with chores at the farm and enjoying good community in Three Rivers. Teams have traveled more locally to Pittsburgh, Youngstown, Ohio and Aliquippa, PA to understand how our own neighbors are working to recover and renew their communities after the steel industry crashed.
One year we sent a team to Ecuador to serve with an organization and to spend time exploring the natural wonders through hiking and summiting a mountain! And since Hurricane Katrina, students each year have travelled to the Holly Grove Neighborhood in New Orleans to meet with and serve Trinity Christian Community. If you are looking for an opportunity to make new friends, serve alongside a team, be challenged to really think about what it means to engage in local communities, and learn from Christians who are serving faithfully in different places you should apply for a Quest Trip!"
