Dr. R. Albert Mohler Jr., President of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and of the most recognized names regarding Christian moral, cultural and theological issues today, will address pastors and church workers serving on the front line of God’s kingdom.
There is no fee for attendance, but there is advance registration and seating is limited. Deadline is April 27.
Geneva College is pleased to host Dr. R. Albert Mohler Jr. as the undergraduate commencement speaker.
Dr. R. Albert Mohler Jr. serves as president of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary – the flagship school of the Southern Baptist Convention and one of the largest seminaries in the world. He is a globally-recognized theologian and an ordained minister.
Dr. Mohler hosts two programs: The Briefing, a daily analysis of news and events from a Christian worldview; and Thinking in Public, a series of conversations with the day’s leading thinkers. He also writes a popular blog and a regular commentary on moral, cultural and theological issues.
Dr. Mohler has been recognized by such influential publications as Time and Christianity Today as a leader among American evangelicals. Widely sought as a columnist and commentator, he has been quoted in many of the nation’s leading newspapers and TV news programs
A native of Lakeland, Fla., Dr. Mohler was a Faculty Scholar at Florida Atlantic University before receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree from Samford University in Birmingham, Ala. He holds a master of divinity degree and the doctor of philosophy (in systematic and historical theology) from Southern Seminary. He has pursued additional study at the St. Meinrad School of Theology and has done research at University of Oxford (England).
He is the author of several books, including his latest We Cannot Be Silent: Speaking truth to a culture redefining sex, marriage, & the very meaning of right & wrong (Thomas Nelson). He has contributed to over 100 other published works.
His numerous awards and recognition include the Edwin Meese III Originalism and Religious Liberty Award from the Alliance Defending Freedom (2015) and the Christian Standard Bible award from Lifeway Christian Resources (2017).
Dr. Mohler serves on the boards of several organizations including World News Group, and previously on the board of Focus on the Family. He is a member of the Council for Biblical Manhood and Womanhood, serves as a council member for The Gospel Coalition, and is a teaching fellow for Ligonier Ministries. In addition, he is a co-founder of Together for the Gospel.
He and wife Mary have two children, Katie and Christopher, and a grandchild, Benjamin.
