International Admissions Requirements for ODP Students

Welcome! We are glad that you’re interested in learning more about Geneva College, a Christian university in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, USA. Geneva College′s Online Degree Programs (ODP) offers bachelor's degrees in an accelerated format designed for busy adults. Geneva offers fully online programs, so as an international student you can stay in your own country and still complete a bachelor’s degree from an American university.

In addition to the documents required for ODP applicants, international students must also submit the following items.

  • English Language Exam Results
International students applying to an Online Degree Program at Geneva College are required to submit official English language exam results to show proficiency. Exams that will be considered and accepted for admission are: TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE Academic. Because you will not receive any English as a Second Language (ESL) assistance through an online program, to be considered for admission to the Adult Degree Programs you must have achieved the following scores:
  • TOEFL (iBT): 79 or higher
  • TOEFL (paper-based): 550 or higher
  • IELTS: 7 or higher
  • PTE Academic: 59 or higher
  • Foreign University Transcript Evaluations
Students who are applying to an Online Degree Program at Geneva College, who are submitting foreign university transcripts or credits, must have their transcripts evaluated by World Education Services (WES) before submission to Geneva. It is the applicant’s responsibility to submit all the necessary documents to WES in order for the evaluation to be complete. Foreign university transcripts that have not been evaluated by WES will not be accepted for use in the admissions process.

Online vs On Campus Information for International Students
Geneva College offers a fully online program for adults looking to complete their bachelor’s degree. As an international student, it is important to have an understanding of what is required of you when completing classes for an American university.

International students studying in America attend on a non-immigrant visa called an F-1 visa. One of the requirements for this visa is that the student is attending classes on campus and not online as a majority. If you are accepted into an Online Degree Program at Geneva College, you will be completing your degree online and will not qualify for a visa to enter the United States.
