(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) – Geneva College brings in the fall semester with Homecoming and Family Weekend on September 27 and 28, 2019. Geneva welcomes current students, family, alumni and Beaver County community members to campus for a weekend of entertainment, games, good food and warm reunions.
Geneva Spirit Day on Thursday, September 26, will usher in the weekend and encourages the campus community to show school spirit by wearing Geneva attire. Many events will commence on Friday, September 27, and Saturday, September 28, including fun family activities, concerts, a tailgate party, varsity football and soccer games, and much more. Vendor booths and food trucks will line the pedestrian walkway in the center of campus on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Homecoming provides a wonderful opportunity for Geneva alumni to visit their alma mater and reconnect with old friends. This year, graduates of classes ending in a 9 or 4, e.g., 1959, 1964, 1969 through 2014, can register and take part in the weekend reunions. Participants experience a wonderful time of fellowship, reminiscing over their college experiences at their “home away from home.”
Homecoming features Geneva student-athletes and the Geneva Athletic program. The Golden Tornadoes football team meets Waynesburg University at Reeves Field on Saturday at 3 p.m. After the game, Geneva invites all alumni and friends to a post-game tailgate party on Old Main Lawn from 6 to 7:30 p.m. (cost is $5 per person or $25 per family of 5 or more).
Soccer fans can watch the Men’s soccer team play against PSU-Behrend on the Reeves Field pitch at 7:30 p.m.
Highlighted below are some of the events that will take place over the weekend. For a more comprehensive schedule, please visit Geneva.edu/homecoming.
