Beaver Falls, Pa. - Geneva baseball split in their second home double-header of the 2017 season on Tuesday, March 21. Geneva triumphed in the first game against the visiting Medaille College, earning an 11-6 win to start the day off. The team could not maintain their momentum through the second game, falling in a 17-9 loss to finish the day off. The split brings the Golden Tornadoes’ season record to 6-8 overall, remaining 0-0 in Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) play.

The Golden Tornadoes were able to widen their lead in the third quarter, bringing four boys over the plate. But, it was during the bottom of the fourth inning that the team really showed their strength as Geneva capitalized on every opportunity given to them. Junior Forrest Beighley’s (Beaver Falls, PA/Blackhawk) single to left field was enough to bring Pagaduan and Luciana home for the second time of the game. Dillon Taggart (Livingston Manor, NY/Livingston Manor Central) and Vinney Howells (Beaver Falls, PA/Riverside) both followed quickly with hard drives which brought Beighley and Dan Staub (Oil City, PA/Oil City) home, delivering Geneva its 11 runs of the game.
