Fort Pierce, FL – The Geneva College baseball team opened its season down for their annual Florida spring break trip. The Golden Tornadoes were swept by Delaware Valley College. Despite taking the early lead with nine hits off Delaware Valley pitchers, the Golden Tornadoes were on the wrong end of the scoreboard when they could not convert enough runs from their hits.

Senior Jeff Parker (Green Brook, NJ/Timothy Christian) took the loss after he went five innings, surrendering five runs, five hits, and throwing two strike outs.
Delaware Valley would again prove too much for the Golden Tornadoes to handle as they soundly handed them a score of 12-4. Delaware Valley never looked back after going up by two runs in the first half.
Geneva’s offense was able to pull together some action in the third, fourth, sixth, and seventh innings with runs batted in by Luciana, sophomore Mark
Junior Josh Glover (Springfield, VA/West Springfield) took the loss after lasting four innings, surrendering seven runs off eight hits, throwing two strike outs, and walking two batters.
The Golden Tornadoes will look to bounce back as they return to the diamond tomorrow, March 7 at 10 a.m. when they take on Eastern Nazarene College.
