Erie, PA – The Golden Tornadoes tallied 21 points for a fifth place team finish at the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Women’s Tennis Championships. Grace Moyer (Virginia Beach, VA/Landstown) ended her freshman campaign second in fourth singles. Moyer went 15-0 in singles play during the regular season, head coach Mandee Craft’s first Golden Tornado to have a perfect season.
“The level of the PAC just keeps going up,” said Craft. “We had a tremendous weekend, moving on to Saturday at five positions, which is fantastic. It was a great end to our best season yet.”
Second doubles pair Sara Stoll (Norwalk, OH/Norwalk) and Moyer dropped an 8-5 decision to Thomas More in the consolation match.
Rachael Letterman (Moon Township, PA/Moon) was held to a fourth place finish by Westminster in a 6-4, 6-1 decision.
Stoll was handed a 6-3, 6-4 loss to Washington & Jefferson in third singles consolation match.
In fifth singles consolation, Megan Shultz (Montrose, PA/Montrose) dropped a 6-3, 6-3 decision to Washington & Jefferson.
