New Wilmington, PA – A slow start for the Golden Tornadoes handed Geneva two set losses opening play at Westminster Saturday (Oct. 15) morning. Geneva fought for the comeback win 3-2 (20-25, 26-28, 25-20, 25-16, 15-10). The 3-2 decision raises Geneva’s overall record to 18-6, 12-1 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC).
Olivia Test (Negley, OH/Heartland Christian) led Geneva’s offense with 16 kills supported by Marissa Naples (Cortland, OH/Lakeview) with 14, Erica Hughes (North Jackson, OH/Jackson Milton) with 12.
Alaina Lytle (Warren, OH/Lakeview) posted 50 assists and 13 digs in five sets.
Gabrielle Dickson (Brookfield. OH/Kennedy Catholic) led the defensive efforts with 26 digs. McKala King (Uniontown, OH/Lake) recorded 18 digs and Abby Wenger (Lititz, PA/Warwick) tallied 13.
As a team, the Golden Tornadoes racked up nine blocks.
Geneva returns to the court on Wednesday, October 19 in against conference rival Bethany at 7 p.m.
