Bethany, WV – The Geneva men’s soccer program tallied its fifth straight shutout, its ninth straight win against Bethany College Tuesday (Oct. 18) night with a 3-0 decision. The win raises the Golden Tornadoes overall record to 11-3-1, 5-0 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC).
After a scoreless first half, sophomore forward Liam O’Halloran (Elyria, OH/Elyria Catholic) scored his sixth goal of the season in the 48th minute off an assist from junior captain Josh Brenize (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg).
O’Halloran then combined with Junior forward Abel Carleton (Darlington, PA/Beaver County Christian School) for Geneva’s next two goals. Senior midfielder Brandon Crider (Marion, PA/Shalom Christian Academy) also picked up an assist on Carleton’s second goal. This brings Carleton’s season total to 12 goals.
Current PAC Defensive Player of the Week Gib McCracken (Beaver Falls, PA/Beaver County Christian School) and sophomore goalkeeper Luke Nolan (Wexford, PA/North Allegheny) helped to ensure the win from the backline.
Still undefeated in the conference, Geneva will host top conference rival, Thomas More, on Saturday, October 22 at 7 p.m. during the program’s senior night.
