Streak Hits 11; McNulty Helps Geneva Outlast Saint Vincent

Beaver Falls, PA – Geneva’s 3-0 (29-17, 30-28, 25-16) win over the Saint Vincent Bearcats extends Geneva’s winning streak to 11. Now 12-5, 7-1 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) the Golden Tornadoes are set to host PAC tri-match Saturday, October 1 inviting the Thomas More Saints and Waynesburg Yellow Jackets to College Hill.

Sydney McNulty (State College, PA/State College Area) led Geneva’s offense with 11 kills posting a .321 hitting percentage. Marissa Naples (Cortland, OH/Lakeview) earned a .333 hitting percentage tallying eight kills.

Freshmen setters Bailey McDonald (Amity, PA/Bishop Canevin) and Alaina Lytle (Warren, OH/Lakeview) shared the setting responsibilities. McDonald finished the night with 20 assists, Lytle with 12.

Alexis Ritson (Irwin, PA/Hempfield) led the defensive efforts with 15 digs supported by Gabrielle Dickson (Brookfield, OH/Kennedy Catholic) with 14.

Geneva defends home court starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday against Thomas More. After Thomas More and Waynesburg compete at 1 p.m. the Golden Tornadoes will resume play at 3 p.m. against Waynesburg.
