Nick Edinger returns to the Cross Country Program here at Geneva College this season serving this time as an Assistant Coach. Edinger is a former, record-breaking Golden Tornado who graduated with the class of 2013 with a degree in Psychology. “I love the dedication and commitment running teaches,” comments Edinger. “I’ve learned a lot from my own running and I am excited to share it with others.”
Edinger’s career is noteworthy; he holds five school records between cross country, indoor track and outdoor track. In cross-country he holds the 8K record with a time of 24:23. For the indoor season he holds the 5,000-meter race record with the time 15:16.95 and the 3,000 meter race record with a time of 8:50.72. Finally, in the outdoor season, Edinger broke the records in the 5,000 and 10,000 meter events with times of 14:48.26 and 31:27.90 respectively.
The cross-country season officially kicks-off for the Golden Tornadoes on Friday, September 2, as they travel to Westminster College for the Fisher Invitational at 6:30 p.m. for the women and 7:15 p.m. for the men.
