Latrobe, PA – The road was unkind to Geneva Tuesday afternoon at Saint Vincent. The Bearcats swept Geneva 7-0, 7-1 lowering Geneva’s overall record to 13-15, 3-9 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference.
Saint Vincent’s pitcher, Samantha Emert, shut down Geneva’s offense allowing only two hits in the opening game.
In game two, Clara Sevy (Sykesville, MD / Chapelgate Christian) sparked Geneva’s offense going 2-2 at the plate. Though the Bearcats never lost the led after their six-run second inning, the Golden Tornadoes got on the scoreboard in the fifth off Ashley Grow’s (Beaver, OH / Waverly) bat. Grow batted in Sevy after she singled, advanced on an error and scored after tagging up.
Saturday, April 23 Geneva hosts Bethany at 1 & 3 p.m. during the program’s Youth Softball Camp Day. All campers that attended this past summer’s Youth Softball Camp will get their picture with the team after the doubleheader.
