Washington, PA – Emily Kelsar (Mt. Pleasant, PA / Connellsville) allowed only three hits in the opener at Washington & Jefferson and Geneva pounded out 10 hits but could only manage a single run. Two unearned runs for the Presidents more than offset that run in the 2-1 loss.
In the nightcap, Geneva lost 7-1. The losses lower Geneva’s overall record to 11-13, 1-7 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference.
In game two, the Golden Tornadoes took advantage of a W&J error to score in the third but W&J crushed any hopes for a comeback in the fifth with a four run inning.
Saturday, April 16 Geneva travels north to Grove City for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
