Grove City, PA – The Presidents’ Athletic Conference 2014 Champions defended their title this afternoon when the Golden Tornadoes visited for a 4 p.m. match. Grove City defeated the visiting GTs 9-0, lowering Geneva’s overall record to 5-2, 3-2 in the league.
“We lost to a stronger team today,” said head coach Mandee Craft. “Hopefully we will be stronger for it in the long run.”
Second doubles partners Sara Stoll (Norwalk, OH/Norwalk) and Megan Hinds (Montrose, PA/Montrose) recorded five points against the Wolverines.
Megan Sweyer (Pulaski, PA/Wilmington) took her sixth singles opponent to three rounds; 6-4, 3-6, 10-4.
The Golden Tornadoes are set to host Penn State Altoona Saturday, September 26 starting at noon during Geneva’ s homecoming. Geneva then returns to conference play Friday, October 2 at Washington & Jefferson.
