BEAVER FALLS, PA - Both sophomore Gib McCracken (Beaver Falls/Beaver County Christian School) and senior Daniel Cox (Cary, NC/Cary) recorded their first goals of the season in the first half. That turned out to be enough as the Golden Tornadoes improved their season record to 4-1-1 with the win.
“We got a couple of corner kick goals in the first half, we set them up well,” said Geneva coach Gary Dunda. “We bounced back well after a tough loss on Saturday.
“In the second half, it was a back and forth game, I don’t think we rested or fell into a defensive shell. Mount Union is a good team and their kid made a great shot.”
Also denting the scoring column for Geneva was sophomore Josh Brenize (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg) with an assist on McCracken’s goal. McCracken and senior PJ Luksik (Johnstown, PA/Bishop McCort) assisted on Cox’s goal.
The Golden Tornadoes continue their season Saturday with a home game against Fredonia State at 3:00 on the grass at the Merriman Complex.
