Bethany, WV – Geneva women’s track and field traveled to West Virginia for the Bethany invitational over the Easter weekend. The Golden Tornadoes took six top three finishes in the meet.
Head Coach Phil Thompson said, “We had some great performances on the track and in the field events today. We had a lot of top three finishes which shows that the student-athletes are working hard. I am very pleased with today's results.”
Freshman Jess Kelosky (Fombell, PA / Riverside) broke the school record in the 100 meter dash while earning a first place finish (12.71).
Senior captain, Anna Wargo (Avonworth, PA / Avonworth) earned a first place finish in the 3000 meter Steeplechase event (12:12.21).
Freshman Madelyn Blosser (Mechanicsburg, PA / Cumberland Valley) earned a second place finish in the 800 meter (2:31.65) while in the field senior Sara Williams (Wellsboro, PA / New Covenant Academy) also earned the team a second place finish in the shot put.
Geneva overwhelmed the Javelin event taking second and third thanks to freshman Christina Noble’s (New Castle, PA / Union) 33.62 meter throw and sophomore Rebekah Rupert’s (Greenville, PA / Greenville) 31.77 meter throw.
Saturday, April 11 the Golden Tornadoes will travel down route 18 to Westminster College for a meet starting at noon.
