Beaver Falls, PA – Anthony Monteparte (Latrobe, PA/Latrobe) homered to left field for the Golden Tornadoes walk off 8-7 win over the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets in game two of Monday’s doubleheader. Waynesburg outplayed Geneva 10-0 in game one. The seventh inning five run deficit comeback moved Geneva, now 8-9 overall, 2-3 in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference, back into the win column after a three loss stretch.
Monteparte’s game winning homer brought in Dan Jeffreys (Moon Township, PA/Moon) and Tyler Damazo (Beaver Falls, PA/Blackhawk) in the six run seventh inning.
Earlier in the game, Damazo’s double rbi brought home Andy Santana (San Pedro de Marcoris, DR/Desert Christian) in the bottom of the first, sliming Waynesburg’s lead to 2-1.
Waynesburg’s bats exploded in the third inning leaping to a 6-1 lead over the GTs.
Santana responded to the Yellow Jackets with a double to centerfield driving home Tyler Pagaduan (Voorhess, NJ/Eastern Regional). The Golden Tornadoes were down 6-2 until the sixth when Waynesburg extended the lead to 7-2.
Josh Glover (Springfield, VA/West Springfield) earned the win allowing no runs in his 1 2/3 innings of work on the mound.
