Beaver Falls, PA – Geneva’s women’s indoor track and field team sealed a third place finish on Friday at Oberlin, edging Presidents’ Athletic Conference rival Westminster with just over 14 points.

“The team is really hitting their stride,” said head coach Phil Thompson.

“They continue to go out and compete at a high level.  Everyone improves at each meet which just proves their hard work is paying off. “

Two new school records were set in the 60 meters by freshman Nicole Bartoletta (Monaca, PA / Central Valley) with a time of 8.38 and in the distance medley relay Anna Wargo (Pittsburgh, PA/Avon), Jessica Kelosky (Fombell, PA / Riverside), Havilah Gaugler (Emsworth, PA / Avonworth), and Madelyn Blosser (Mechanicsburg, PA / Cumberland Valley) set Geneva’s record at 13:09.35.

Gaugler also finished second in the 800 meter race (2:30.54).

Other top performances include Morgan Peaco (Zelienople, PA / Seneca Valley) in the high jump, finishing second (1.43 meters),Rachael Carey (Glenshaw, PA / Shaler) with a second place finish in the triple jump (9.61 meters) and Sarah Foy (Rockwood, PA / Rockwood Area) throwing shotput 11.06 meters for a fifth place finish.

On Friday, February 13 the team will travel to Baldwin Wallace competing one more time before heading to the PAC Indoor Championships on Thursday, February 26.
