Geneva women’s soccer come back to halt streak in 4-3 victory

Geneva women′s soccer come back to halt streak; 4-3 win over Chatham

gcw-soccer-9-14-033.jpgPittsburgh, PA- Geneva women′s soccer gave up three goals in the first 15 minutes to the Chatham Cougars this afternoon. Down 3-0 at the half, the Golden Tornadoes came back to win their first conference game of the season and be a halt to the 13 game losing streak. The win raises Geneva′s overall record to 2-14, 1-6 in the Presidents′ Athletic Conference.

Head Coach Linda Sumner commented, "Our girls came out on fire the second half, scoring four goals to win 4-3. A great overall effort for a well-deserved win."

Heidi Mann (Colorado Springs, CO/Evangelical Christian Academy) scored Geneva′s first and second goals both assisted by Kimberly Orihel (Clinton, OH/Cuyahoga Valley Christian). Orihel then took her turn, scoring Geneva′s third and fourth goals both goals assisted by Rhetta King (Waynesburg, PA/Open Door Christian).

Geneva′s last home game will be Wednesday October 29 at 5 p.m. against Waynesburg.
