Beaver Falls, PA - It has been three consecutive shut-outs for the Geneva College women′s tennis team. The bad news is that two of those three shut-outs have come against the Golden Tornadoes including a 9-0 loss to power house Grove City on Friday afternoon at Beaver Falls High School. The loss dropped Geneva′s early season record to 2-2.
Geneva dropped all three doubles matches with only two game victories dropping matches by scores of 8-0, 8-1 and 8-1. In singles action, the Golden Tornadoes were again whitewashed with similar results. Freshman Julie Kline put up the best fight in singles action with a 6-3, 6-2 loss. No other Geneva player managed to win more than two games in straight set losses.
The Golden Tornadoes head to Westminster next Wednesday before a weekend trip to Thomas More and Asbury next Friday and Saturday. The Golden Tornadoes return home on September 23rd to face Waynesburg University.
