Each new academic year sees additions to the faculty, and this year is no different. For the fall 2009 semester, Geneva College welcomes Dr. Megan Morton as assistant professor of English.
Dr. Morton′s appointment to the English faculty is her first teaching position since receiving her doctorate from Purdue University in May 2009. Her primary focus is in rhetoric and composition, with a secondary focus in American literature. She also earned her master′s degree in English from Purdue, and her bachelor′s degree in secondary English education from Saint Xavier University, Chicago. She has previously taught on the high school, undergraduate and graduate levels. This semester, Dr. Morton is teaching freshman composition, introductory literary criticism and post-Civil War American literature.
In 2007, Dr. Morton won the Janice M. Lauer Award for Dissertation Excellence and the Cheryl Z. Oreovicz Prize in Early American Studies.
