Colbert, who has graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Christian ministries and linguistics, received the award for his paper entitled “New or Renewed? A Study in the Biblical Theology of Creation and Restoration.” He developed the paper for a Biblical Theology course taught by Dr. Byron Curtis, Geneva College professor of biblical studies.
Fifty-seven students nationwide applied for the H.Y. Benedict Fellowship, but only 10 students received the award. Colbert will receive a stipend of $2,500 for his first year of graduate study at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School near Chicago.
