SWEET SWEEPS, GENEVAWINS PAIR
OF 9-0 DECISIONS IN 24 HOURS
Beaver Falls, PA - It was homecoming weekend on the campus of Geneva College, but the Geneva women′s tennis team didn′t have much time to enjoy the festivities. The Golden Tornadoes were too busy dispatching a pair of opponents in less than 24 hours. On Friday afternoon, Geneva defeated LaRoche College by the score of 9-0. The Golden Tornadoes repeated the feat on Saturday morning with another 9-0 white wash over Bethany College. The two victories helped the Golden Tornadoes improve to 6-4 on the season.
Chelsea Cover and Kara Zimmerman enjoyed perfect 4-0 record with each pulling off a pair of singles and doubles victories. Maura McLaughlin teamed up with Bethany Ragonesi in doubles on Friday and then each picked up two more wins on Saturday. In two doubles matches, McLaughlin and Ragonesi did not surrender in game.
Other Geneva winners on the weekend included Amy Weller and Jill Grabski, who each combined for a perfect 4-0 record.
Geneva will look to continue its winning ways when it hosts Saint Vincent on October 15th.
