The purpose of the Henry Mancini Musical Theatre Awards is to recognize, nurture and encourage students who achieve excellence in presenting their high school musicals. These "Awards of Excellence" are affectionately called Henries in honor of Beaver County′s most famous musical artist, the late Henry Mancini of Aliquippa. As in recent years, a member of the Mancini family will be in attendance to participate in the awards ceremony.
All nominees will be honored at a special reception on May 14. The awards of excellence will be presented at a gala celebration on Wednesday, May 21, in Metheny Fieldhouse at Geneva College in Beaver Falls. For ticket information, call the Geneva College Public Relations Office, at 724-847-6521.
