GENEVADROPS A PAIR AT THIEL
Greenville, PA - Geneva′s baseball team stepped into the Lion′s Den, well maybe it was more like a Tomcat as Thiel College defeated the Golden Tornadoes in a pair of PAC games by the scores of 23-2 and 10-6. The doubleheader loss dropped Geneva′s overall record to 13-11.
Geneva′s pitching staff fell victim to six Thiel home runs in the doubleheader, while the Golden Tornadoes managed a lone long ball off the bat of Tadd Eyster in the game one loss. Dave Foss suffered the loss in game one and Derek Sumner dropped the night cap.
In game two, Patrick Kramer ripped a two-run double that gave the Golden Tornadoes a short-lived 3-0 lead in the second inning. Trailing 10-4, Justin Montgomery came through with a two-run double of his own to get Geneva back in the game, but the Golden Tornadoes could not muster anymore offense.
Geneva will be back in action on Tuesday when it travels to Grove City College for a PAC doubleheader. The Golden Tornadoes return to 33rd Street Field next Saturday to host Waynesburg University in a doubleheader at 12:00 pm.
