CLARKE AND RICH LEAD SECOND HALF RALLY,
GENEVAWINS 16th
Beaver Falls, PA - When Geneva and Bethany hooked up in a women′s game in the first week of December, it took overtime to determine the winner. On Saturday night, Geneva and Bethany appeared to be going in the same direction. However, Allyson Clarke and Michawn Rich had other ideas as the two-some took over the game in the last ten minutes and guided Geneva to a 75-58 victory. The win moved Geneva to 16-3 on the season, while Bethany dropped to 10-9.
With Bethany enjoying its only lead of the second half at 47-46 with 11:23 to play, Geneva scored 21 of the next 24 points to take a 67-50 lead with 4:40 left in the game. Allyson Clarke continued her incredible season with her 15th double-double of the year with 29 points and 13 rebounds. Michawn Rich posted a career best 19 points to go along with 14 rebounds and six assists.
Geneva also got key contributions from Megan Hartwig with 11 points off the bench and from Bridget Beachy, who posted seven points in the victory.
Bethany was led by Tara Harris, who scored 18 points off the bench in a losing effort.
Geneva will head right back on the road next week with PAC games against Saint Vincent on Wednesday and Chatham next Saturday. The Golden Tornadoes will return home on February 13th when they host Waynesburg University.
