WINNING SEASON CLINCHED WITH THIRD
STRAIGHT VICTORY
Beaver Falls, PA- Playing in its first fall season as a member of NCAA Division III and the Presidents′ Athletic Conference, Geneva′s women′s tennis team clinched a winning campaign with a 7-2 decision over Waynesburg College on Tuesday afternoon. The victory was Geneva′s third straight, all of which have come against PAC opponents. Geneva improved its overall record to 7-4 with just one match remaining on the regular season docket, which includes a trip to Westminster on Wednesday.
Jill Halama won a two-set match at number one singles, while Tess Roholt ran her singles record to 9-2 with a 6-2, 6-0 victory. Both Halama and Roholt won for the fourth consecutive time. Allison Krisza dropped a two-set decision, including a second set tie-breaker. Krisza lost for just the second time all season.
Other singles winners included Jill Grabski and Katie Caldwell. Geneva swept all three doubles matches by a combined score of 24 games to nine.
Geneva is set to close out the 2007 campaign with a trip to New Wilmington to face Westminster on Wednesday afternoon.
