RIVALS MEET AGAIN IN JV MATCH-UP WITH SAME RESULT
Beaver Falls, PA- Just two days removed from Geneva′s 37-14 victory over Westminster in New Wilmington, the two schools hooked up again in a junior varsity game at Reeves Field in Beaver Falls. Although the players were different, the uniforms and the results were the same. Geneva was able to hold off Westminster 7-6 to move its junior varsity record to 2-0.
Much like the familiar names of Geneva and Westminster, a familiar name in Geneva football circles accounted for the only Golden Tornado touchdown of the afternoon. Matt Rose, the son of former Geneva stand out Alan "Pumpkin" Rose, took off on a 98 yard kickoff return to give the Golden Tornadoes a one-point victory.
It was once again the Geneva defense, much like its victory on Saturday that was up to the challenge as the Golden Tornadoes stymied the Titans for the second time in three days.
Geneva′s junior varsity has at least one more game scheduled this fall. The Golden Tornadoes are scheduled to host Robert Morris University at Reeves Field on October 8th.
