WEAVER SHINES IN LOSS TO SETON HILL
Beaver Falls, PA - Amber Weaver turned in one of the most impressive goalkeeping performances in recent Geneva women′s soccer history on Monday afternoon. Despite her heroics, Weaver and the Golden Tornadoes dropped a 3-1 decision at Seton Hill. The loss dropped Geneva′s overall record to 1-3.
Weaver turned away an incredible 19 shots, but it was the three that snuck past which turned out to be the difference. Seton Hill out shot Geneva 30-6 in the game, but the Golden Tornadoes trailed just 2-1 at the end of the first 45 minutes.
After Geneva spotted Seton Hill two goals, Amanda Munsch connected for her second goal of the season to cut the deficit in half. An insurance goal from Seton Hill in the 49th minute proved to put the game away, but not before the Golden Tornadoes put a scare into the highly touted Griffins.
Geneva will try to get back into the win column on Thursday night when it hosts Carlow University at Merriman Athletic Complex at 7 pm.
