ROLL CONTINUES WITH FOURTH STRAIGHT WIN,
McCRACKEN′S THE DIFFERENCE AGAIN
Beaver Falls, PA - There seems to be trend being set by Geneva′s men′s soccer team in the early season. The defense pitches a shut-out and a freshman supplies the offense that results in a victory. On Saturday, Geneva won for the fourth straight time and by the score of 1-0 for the second time in three days by defeating LaRoche College. Geneva improved to 4-1 by once again out shooting its opponent for the fifth straight game.
Junior goalkeeper Sam McCracken pitched his second shut-out of the season and extended his scoreless streak to 373 minutes. While Sam was busy keeping LaRoche out of the net, younger brother Jake found the net for his second consecutive game winner. McCracken scored for the third time this season in helping the Golden Tornadoes to their fourth victory of the season.
Geneva will try to keep it going on Monday when it travels to Pitt-Greensburg for a 4 pm kickoff. The Golden Tornadoes return home next Thursday to host Franciscan University at 7 pm.
