The Mancini Awards, affectionately known as "Henries," will be presented at a gala showcase on Wednesday, May 23, at 7:00 p.m. in Metheny Fieldhouse on the campus of Geneva College, Beaver Falls. Tickets are available at the participating high schools and at the Public Relations Office at Geneva College (724-847-6514), as well as at the door.
The Henry Mancini Musical Theatre Awards, now in its thirteenth year, was established to encourage excellence in high school musicals in Beaver, Butler, and Lawrence counties. Three Awards of Excellence are presented in each category except Outstanding Individual Performances, where six awards are presented. The program is named in honor of the late Henry Mancini, the award-winning composer who grew up in Aliquippa. Manciniā²s son Chris will attend and will present the awards for Outstanding Production.
