Griffin Grief, Geneva Falls Twice to Seton Hill
Greensburg, PA - One day after dropping a doubleheader to Seton Hill in Beaver Falls, the Golden Tornadoes saw the Griffins stick their way to two more victories in Greensburg by the scores of 11-7 and 18-1. The non-conference doubleheader loss moved Geneva′s overall record to 21-16 for the season.
In game one, Matt Colella clubbed his seventh homer of the season to go along with three RBI′s, but it wasn′t nearly enough to match Seton Hill′s offensive prowess. Geneva managed eight hits in the loss. Dave Foss pitched into the sixth inning, but picked up the loss for the Golden Tornadoes.
Game two didn′t turn out any better for Geneva. In fact, Seton Hill was even more impressive on offense in an 18-1 victory. Seton Hill broke the game open with a 13-run fourth inning. Brandon Baughman pitched 3 2/3 innings and was saddled with the loss. Geneva′s lone run came on an Andy Lubich sacrifice fly in the seventh inning.
Geneva will turn its attention to the AMC North title race as it sits in first place with four critical games against Malone College this week. The four-game series begins with a doubleheader at Geneva on Wednesday and will resume with two games in Canton next Saturday.
