Singles Sweep Avenges Loss
Beaver Falls, PA - Geneva′s women′s tennis team had last year′s loss to Roberts Wesleyan on its mind when it took the court against the Raiders on Friday afternoon. The Golden Tornadoes were able to avenge that loss with an impressive 8-1 victory for their second win of the season. Geneva moved to 2-6 overall, including a 2-3 mark in the American Mideast Conference.
Geneva set the tone early and took total control of the match with victories in each of its six singles matches. Jill Halama, Anna Buckwalter, Allison Krisza, Tess Roholt, Julia Buck and Beth Sweatman all came away victories in the singles round.
In doubles action, Buckwalter and Krisza teamed up for a win in #2 doubles. Meanwhile, third doubles team of Buck and Sweatman secured Geneva′s eighth victory of the day.
Geneva will take the court on Thursday when it travels to Walsh University for another American Mideast Conference match.
