BEAVER FALLS, Pa.- Three Geneva students from Beaver County received the George Polovina Scholarship this year.
Amy Skalko, junior math education major, from New Brighton. Skalko is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Skalko. She is a 2003 graduate of New Brighton High School.
Karoline Swiontek, grad senior applied math major, from Aliquippa. Swiontek is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Swiontek. She is a 2002 graduate of Hopewell High School.
Maria White, junior applied math major, from New Galilee. White is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David D. White of Phippsburg, Maine. She is a 2003 graduate of Morse High School in Phippsburg.
The George Polovina Scholarship was established by his sister, Sophia Polovina White, to help Beaver County students majoring in mathematics at Geneva College. George taught mathematics at the Aliquippa High School for thirty years.
