WHAT: Beyond the Bend dessert reception will mark the beginning of a fundraising effort to improve the campus once Route 18 is relocated by PennDOT in the fall of 2006.
WHEN: Friday, October 7, 2005, at 7:30 p.m.
WHERE: Geneva College, Route 18, three miles south of Beaver Falls exit off of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, at 31st Street and College Avenue.
WHO: College officials and local politicians will give a brief presentation at 8 p.m. about the project.
WHY: Geneva′s project, Beyond the Bend ~ Making the Path Straight, will raise the funds neededto create a new entrance to the campus, renovate Reeves Stadium and build a pedestrian mall. The project′s goal is to raise a minimum of $5.7 million by December 2007.
HOW: A free community dessert reception will be held at 7:30 p.m. A brief program at 8 p.m. will include pyrotechnics to dramatize the removal of Route 18 and the beginning of a transformed campus.
