Publicly Accessible Databases
In addition to the resources that McCartney Library licenses on behalf of Geneva College students, faculty and staff, there are
many sources of information freely available from government agencies or through local, public libraries.
- DOAB – The Directory of Open Access Books provides the online full text of books it lists, many of them from scholarly, university presses
- DOAJ – The Directory of Open Access Journals lists journals that provide all of their articles online, without charge and provides a search engine for their articles
- EBSCO Essentials – Search and filter results in this database of open access articles, as well as other sources that can be requested from your local public library through interlibrary loan
- OpenDissertations (EBSCOhost) – Provides open access to over 1.2 million electronic theses and dissertations from around the world
- European Views of the Americas (EBSCOhost) – free archive of indexed publications and primary sources related to the Americas and written in Europe before 1750
