The Center for Urban Biblical Ministry (CUBM) prepares urban students in Western Pennsylvania for effective and God-honoring employment, while providing learning experiences that equip them for future educational pursuits.
A Brighter Pittsburgh: Where college dreams become reality!
A Brighter Pittsburgh (ABP) offers a unique opportunity to qualified high school seniors and graduates, ages 17-20. Through a combination of academic training, career development, mentoring and activities, ABP gives students the tools they need to succeed in the classroom, in the workplace and in their communities. Featuring small class sizes with highly qualified instructors and customized guidance in a nurturing environment, ABP makes an individual investment in each student.Students enter CUBM's business administration program as a means of transitioning into a traditional undergraduate program at Geneva College. Geneva awards a $1,000 per year grant to ABP students who enroll at the main campus.
Associate Degree Programs
CUBM offers faith-based Geneva College associate degrees in Christian ministry, business administration, human resources and leadership. These accredited, biblically based associate degrees are granted by Geneva through a partnership between the college and CUBM that began in 1988. Possibilities are open for interested students to take the next step in their educational pursuits through bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Geneva upon completion of the CUBM program.

CUBM was established by a group of visionary urban church leaders who wanted to provide formal education and credentialing for church ministers and lay leaders. Over the years, the student body has grown in diversity and size, and is now made up of people from many different denominations and cultures, all with one common trait—they are looking for a Christ-centered education that will strengthen their faith and prepare them for service in the 21st century. CUBM is housed within the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary at 7418 Penn Avenue near the corner of Penn Avenue and Braddock Avenue in Point Breeze, between Wilkinsburg and East Liberty.
