The Alumni Council met with Dean of Students Joy Jewell and faculty members Dr. Jay Neikirk and Dr. Paul Kilpatrick to discuss the needs of the College and students and how the alumni can assist with these needs.  Special emphasis was placed on developing alumni interaction with students in a classroom setting.

Council members met with students and parents at the Family Weekend Brunch and talked with members of the Parents Council about their mission and needs from alumni.

Updates were provided on several projects handled by the Institutional Advancement office, including: 

• the “Beyond the Bend” project
• the new College fundraising policy excluding recent grads from donation solicitation lists
• greater partnership between the alumni and admissions offices

Plans for increasing the scope of benefits provided to Geneva alumni were discussed with more information forthcoming.

The Geneva Women, represented by Janet (Wherry ‘64) Wise, continue their support of the College by holding fundraising events and donating the proceeds to student groups.

The next meeting is scheduled for Saturday, May 13, 2006.
